High-purity inorganic salts and silicon. Cu(NO₃)₂ and Ni(NO₃)₂ (catalyst + battery-precursor grade, Pb ≤10 ppm) + Si Metal 4-4-1/5-5-3, for catalyst formulation, R&D and chemical production.
The chemical industry buys metal inputs not for their bulk metallurgical behaviour but for what their dissolved or reactive form delivers downstream: a defined cation, a controlled impurity envelope, and lot-to-lot consistency. Three workflows dominate procurement here. Heterogeneous catalyst manufacture starts from a metal-salt precursor that is impregnated onto a support (alumina, silica, carbon) then calcined and reduced, so the precursor's anion (nitrate decomposes cleanly to oxide + NOx) and its trace-metal profile decide catalyst activity and poisoning risk. Battery-precursor work feeds cathode synthesis, where dissolved transition-metal salts are co-precipitated into hydroxide intermediates. Silicon-based chemistry and R&D consume metallurgical-grade Si as the feed for downstream silicon and silane routes, where the Fe/Al/Ca floor of the starting metal sets the achievable purity ceiling.
Each product class maps to a specific stage. Copper(II) nitrate trihydrate, Cu(NO₃)₂·3H₂O (CAS 10031-43-3), sits at the impregnation step for Cu-based catalysts and in surface-coating and electroless chemistries; a tight Pb ≤10 ppm ceiling plus Cl, Fe, Al and Si each held low keeps catalytic sites and plating baths clean. Nickel(II) nitrate hexahydrate, Ni(NO₃)₂·6H₂O (CAS 13478-00-7), feeds NMC cathode-precursor co-precipitation and Ni-catalyst formulation, again at Pb ≤10 ppm. Silicon Metal 4-4-1 (Si ≥99%) and 5-5-3 (Si ≥98.5%) serve as melt and process feedstock where the Si floor and the residual Fe/Al/Ca matter more than particle morphology.
Grade selection is driven by the impurity that breaks your process, not the headline assay. For catalyst and battery-precursor salts, specify the ICP-MS-verified trace ceiling (Pb, Cl, alkali) rather than only the cation percentage; for Si metal, fix the 441 vs 553 grade against your downstream purity target. Every lot ships with COA and MSDS/SDS; FPC and a Certificate of Performance are available on request, and EN 10204 3.1 documentation supports auditable supply for EU-facing buyers, with CBAM embedded-emissions data provided where a downstream stainless or EAF route falls in scope.
Supply runs on multi-regional sourcing to hold spec without single-channel exposure: CIF Marmara, Gebze bonded stock for 24-48h pulls, salts in 25 kg HDPE drums, 1 MT IBC or jumbo bag, container-scale 20 MT FCL with smaller lots on request. Mixed catalyst-salt and Si-metal orders consolidate into one shipment, and RFQs are returned with current spec and delivery terms.
