Deoxidation, inoculation and nodularization for grey iron, ductile iron and steel casting. FeSi 75 deoxidation, FeSiMg nodulizer, SiC inoculant, GPC carbon additive and HC FeMn manganese alloying, certified with COA + MTC.

Foundries melting grey iron, ductile iron and steel castings control three things in the ladle: dissolved oxygen, graphite morphology and final composition. Each is corrected at a defined point in the pour-to-mold sequence, and each calls for a different additive class. Get the timing or the grade wrong and you see shrinkage, chill, low nodule count or off-spec mechanical properties — defects that surface only after the casting is cut.

Deoxidation comes first. FeSi 75 (Si 74-78%, with size fractions from 10-50 mm lump down to 0-3 mm ladle grade) strips oxygen during tapping and sets the silicon base for graphitization. For ductile iron, magnesium treatment follows: FeSiMg nodulizer (typical Mg 5-10%, with controlled rare-earth) converts flake graphite to spheroidal form via sandwich, tundish-cover or cored-wire methods. Late inoculation then fixes nucleation — SiC and FeSi-based inoculants (FeSiBa, FeSiZr) raise graphite-nuclei count and cut chill in thin sections, with stream or in-mold addition at the lowest practical dosage. Recarburizer (calcined petroleum coke or calcined anthracite, often via cored wire) trims carbon to target, while HC FeMn handles manganese alloying.

Grade selection follows the part. Pearlitic ductile grades need a higher-Mn, controlled-residual approach; ferritic grades push for low S and tight inoculation; heavy sections demand barium- or zirconium-bearing inoculants to hold nucleation through slow cooling. Every lot ships with a COA and an EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate (MTC) stating the heat analysis and size distribution. Foundries casting for EU-facing EAF or stainless supply chains also receive CBAM embedded-emissions documentation on request.

Supply runs on multi-regional sourcing held as Gebze bonded stock, with CIF Marmara delivery and 20 MT FCL or mixed-pallet shipments. A deoxidizer + nodulizer + inoculant + recarburizer order consolidates into one shipment, so a foundry receives the full ladle program together rather than chasing four lead times. RFQs are quoted with grade, size fraction and certification confirmed up front.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Which alloys does a ductile-iron foundry need for one casting cycle?
A standard ductile-iron program covers four roles: FeSi 75 for tapping deoxidation and the silicon base, an FeSiMg nodulizer for magnesium treatment and graphite spheroidization, a late inoculant (SiC, FeSiBa or FeSiZr) to raise nucleation and cut chill, and a recarburizer to set final carbon. HC FeMn is added where manganese control is needed. The four additive classes can ship together.
How do I select the right FeSiMg and inoculant grade?
Match the grade to the part, not just the alloy name. Pearlitic grades tolerate higher residual Mn; ferritic grades need low sulfur and tighter inoculation. Heavy sections cool slowly, so barium- or zirconium-bearing inoculants (FeSiBa, FeSiZr) hold nucleation longer and prevent late chill. Confirm Mg %, rare-earth content, treatment method (sandwich, cored wire) and size fraction on the RFQ so dosage and fade are predictable.
What documentation ships with foundry additives, and do you cover CBAM?
Each lot ships with a COA and an EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate (MTC) stating heat analysis and size distribution, which supports your incoming-material QC and casting traceability. Foundries supplying EAF or stainless customers that export into the EU can request CBAM embedded-emissions documentation for the relevant ferroalloys, provided up front rather than retrofitted after the order.
What are typical lead times, and can I combine products in one shipment?
Stock grades held as Gebze bonded inventory move on short lead times; specific grades or size fractions are confirmed at RFQ. A full ladle program — FeSi 75, FeSiMg, SiC or FeSi inoculant, recarburizer and HC FeMn — consolidates into one shipment, delivered CIF Marmara as a 20 MT FCL or a mixed pallet, so you receive the complete additive set together instead of tracking separate deliveries.
